The RV740 core powering the 4770 is build on a 40nm manufacturing process, and so should offer improved performance-per-watt over the 55nm RV770 core powering the 4800-series. That core packs 128 shader units (640 stream processors) is clocked at 750MHz and pairs with 512MB of RAM running at an effective speed of 3.2GHz on a 128-bit interface. The package delivers performance at a level between the 4830 and the 4850.
It is even greater than Geforce 9600 GT I think...
